Recognized since 1997 as one of the 27 regional centres for environmental education in Lower Saxony by the minister for education of Lower Saxony, the municipal centre for environmental education ("Städtisches Umweltbildungszentrum", in short UBZ) has a particularly important meaning because of its incorporation of a nature study museum. No other centre for environmental education in Lower Saxony has such a big exposition at its disposal which provides such a big amount of illustrative material without being dependant on the changes in weather. Because of the strong integration in the Museum on the Schölerberg, the UBZ has a direct influence on the work of this house and collaborates actively on the creation and the choice of expositions. A lot of events for schools are organised in the UBZ. But also children's birthday parties, project days, excursions and the popular "Grashüpfermobil" are inherent parts of the UBZ's wide programme. |

The workshop for environmental education of the local agenda 21 Osnabrück was founded in spring 2003 in order to spread and network (environmental) education successfully. Creating a forum for the environmental education, it wants to contribute to the sustainable education in Osnabrück. For realising this they already gained further active and interested people from all areas of education, institutions and organisations as well as other workshops of the local agenda 21 process in Osnabrück as cooperation partners - as active employees of the workshop or as cooperation partners in individual projects. The following different, project-related web pages are used as instruments for networking:
